Role: Co-founder and Head of Engineering

Good technical education is expensive, and the people starting out are rarely the ones who can pay for it. That is where WaveHub began: somewhere learning to program and to run infrastructure did not depend on having money first.

I co-founded the company and took on engineering. I build the platform in Node.js, Next.js and React, with React Native and Flutter for what has to run on a phone, and MongoDB with Express holding up the back end. I teach as well, both at once, because building the platform is what shows you where students actually get stuck.

We call our students navigators, and the name stuck because it describes what happens: they arrive without a map and leave able to find their way.
