SAVE UMC

From 12/2023 to 11/2025

Role: Front-end Developer and Product Owner

Before an anaesthetic consultation, patients filled in a paper form at reception, minutes before going in. Anyone anxious filled it in badly. Reception needed the signed document in hand, and finding a specific form later meant going through a stack of paper.

I built an application where the patient fills it in at home, unhurried, on their phone. Reception logs into the same platform, sees the record, searches by name and downloads the completed form ready for signature.

Next.js, Tailwind and TypeScript in the application. The back end was written in Java to meet SAVE’s requirements. I worked as Product Owner as well as developer, which in practice meant deciding what shipped and what did not, and asking reception before deciding, because they are the ones using it every day.

This is health information, so security and reliability were never a line item: they were the condition for the thing to exist at all.
